What is Reiki?
Reiki is energy work of Japanese and Tibetan origins. In Japanese, “Rei” means “Universal” and “Ki” means “Life Force Energy.” Ki in Japanese is the same life force energy as described by Qi (or Chi) in Chinese Medicine and addressed with acupuncture.
The belief shared by many cultures is that this unseen life force energy exists within every living being, in nature, and in the universe, and this energy is the interconnectedness of all life. When one's Ki is low, they are more vulnerable to stress and illness.
Reiki is delivered through healing touch. During a Reiki session, you will remain fully-clothed while lying on a massage table, while the Reiki practitioner performs a series of hand positions on or over your head, shoulders, abdomen, feet, and other areas of your body according to your needs.
A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderfully glowing radiance that flows throws through and around you. Reiki promotes stress reduction, relaxation, revitalization, and the body’s own natural ability to heal itself and restore the Ki back into balance.
