Elizabeth DiNapoli

Elizabeth is a licensed Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist, and Herbalist.  She is board certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  

Elizabeth (or Liz) graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in New York City with a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM).  The rigorous four-year, 3,300-hour Master's program focuses on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which includes Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Dietary Therapy, Tui Na (Chinese medical massage), and Qi Gong (focused meditative breathing exercises), which are interwoven with extensive Biomedical coursework. The program includes 900 clinical hours treating patients. 

While at PCOM, Liz also undertook additional coursework in the Classical Acupuncture Program, which was developed under Daoist Master and 88th generation direct descent Dr. Jeffrey C. Yuen of the Jade Purity and Dragon Gate lineage.  Outside of school she has studied J.R. Worsley’s Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture under Dr. Anne Jeffres, L.Ac.

Also a graduate of PCOM's Massage Therapy Program, Liz's unique style of bodywork blends both Eastern and Western philosophies and a variety of modalities including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, TuiNa, and Aromatherapy. She has received training in Oncology Massage, and Massage for Hospice and Elder Care.  As a former, long-time sufferer of neck and back pain,  Liz has a special affinity for working with these areas of the body. 

Liz loves working with Moms during all stages of their pregnancy. She has received extensive post-graduate training for Acupuncture during Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Postpartum period.  Her training included an internship with Claudia Citkovitz, L.Ac., a leading expert in Labor and Delivery Acupuncture, at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn providing acupuncture to laboring mothers on the Labor and Delivery Unit.  Liz received advanced training Prenatal and Postnatal Massage under Susanrachel Condon, LM, LMT, CCE, midwife and founder of Niara Healing Arts.  Liz's DONA International Birth Doula training was with Debra Pascali-Bonaro, B.Ed., LCCE, PDT/BDT(DONA), the Founder & President of Pain to Power Childbirth Experience.  

Liz also loves working with kids! She has taken post-graduate Pediatric Acupuncture courses with Stephen Cowan, MD, pediatrician and author of Fire Child Water Child, and Robin Green, L.Ac., a renowned Pediatric Acupuncture expert.

She is a professional member of the Acupuncture Society of New York (ANSY) and the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

Elizabeth is a Reiki Master of the Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho Lineage. She incorporates Reiki into many of her acupuncture and massage sessions in order to enhance her patients' relaxation and revitalization.

Before moving up to the Capital Region to open up Wellness Roots, Liz began her career in the healing arts working at Cornerstone Healing and Massage Williamsburg in Brooklyn.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Villanova University. Prior to pursuing a career in holistic medicine, Liz dedicated nearly a decade of her life working as a nonprofit fundraiser for organizations providing social justice, health care, and education to underserved populations.
